Who Are Refuse Collection Uppingham

Refuse Collection In Uppingham

refuse collection Uppingham has been working with energy regulator Ofgem and suppliers Genpower and CE Electric UK to ensure that all households in the area have sufficient gas supplies. Power was restored to most of those affected on Friday afternoon, however approximately 90 houses went without power for a further 24 hours due to the break in the pipe. The refuse collection service is being supported by additional staff from across the East Midlands. This has ensured that collections continue to be made to homes in Uppingham and surrounding parishes whilst a temporary solution is agreed with WASTE recycling, which provides the collections through Rutland County Council’s commercial rubbish contract.

The new refuse collection service will be in place in the majority of streets in the county today. This will also see the return of Rutland’s recycling service, which was temporarily paused due to the industrial action. The suspension of trade union strike action means that drivers for the county council can now resume their duties as planned. Members of the public worked extremely well with us to help us keep the county moving. I’d like to thank everyone from Rutland County Council staff, to those from refuse and recycling partner contractors Amey and Refuse Collection Uppingham, for their efforts over the last week in keeping the county running smoothly.
Rutland County Council has been working to deal with the consequences of exceptional weather conditions. Localised disruption, along with damage to retaining walls and fencing, prompted the organisation to take the decision not to empty refuse bins in Uppingham yesterday morning. “Work was completed earlier than expected on Friday, 19 May which means that we have met our target of bringing refuse collections back to normal by the end of last week. We would like to thank you again for your patience and apologise once again for any inconvenience caused.
Rutland County Council has unveiled a new refuse collection fleet, which is hoped will drive down costs and help the environment. The council has spent £107,000 on two brand new trucks in an effort to reduce the wear and tear on its existing vehicles – and even Uppingham is getting a makeover. Rutland County Council has used its own refuse collection fleet, as well as borrowing additional collection vehicles from other East Midlands councils to clear refuse during the Christmas period.
Cllr Stephenson said: “I am very grateful to everyone who took part in the pilot project. I’d also like to thank Rutland County Council for offering their support and for providing the refuse collection crews. The message I can give people is that we will continue to use these two contractors until the end of January and then by February all our usual providers will have returned to their normal collections. The Refuse and Recycling collection was affected by breakdown of the lorry over the bank holiday weekend.

Collections had to be delayed to enable repairs to be made. A team was working to clear the backlog and they have been able to complete the collections by today (May 26, 2016). “A lot of hard work and planning by our staff has gone into resolving this problems. Our refuse teams have worked very long hard hours to ensure that rubbish around the county has been cleared as soon as possible. Downland’s refuse collection service in Uppingham, will be suspended on Friday 14 February to allow specialist equipment to be delivered for the council’s waste operation.
