They will be at Skyworld between 8am – 12pm on Saturdays and 4pm – 9pm on Wednesdays. This service will start on the 7th September. The Parish Council are delighted to support this exciting project which offers the children of Godmanchester a muchneeded new opportunity for play. We therefore strongly encourage those who live in Godmanchester, and the surrounding villages, to respond to the consultation. Our new playground needs you! We want to hear about your experiences near the site and any views you have about its surroundings.

The site is approximately 0. 45 hectares in size and is located off North Street in Godmanchester adjacent to the Sandy Lane allotments.  The Department for Communities and Local Government have statutory planning policy guidance relating to the provision of play/recreation spaces including "providing a minimum of 0. 5 hectares per 1,000 population for outdoor recreational use" (14) The current housing density in relation to the site is projected to be 595 dwellings per hectare, considerably higher than the Government's guidance of 135 dwellings per hectare which is broadly equates to each dwelling having an average sized garden of 3m.

In November 2014 Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) put forward a proposal to the community to build a new playground and skatepark next to the existing play area. Skatepark designs were drawn up and plans were presented at The Godmanchester Society meeting in January 2015. Your feedback will help inform the final plans and ensure that full consideration is made of feedback received. The District Council has received a planning application from the Huntingdonshire District Council for Waste Collection Godmanchester to erect a mobile waste recycling station, which will be used to store and collect dry recyclable waste from nearby housing estates.
