Garden Waste Collection Basingstoke Basingstoke is the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Hart District Council and Garden Waste Collection Basingstoke joint weekly garden waste collection service. Every fortnight, they collect nearly 1,200 tonnes of green garden waste from over 12,000 customers in Basingstoke. Residents in Basingstoke and Deane can look forward to an improved garden waste collection service under a new agreement between Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC) and Hart District Council and waste collection contractor Garden Waste Collection Basingstoke. The reintroduction of a fortnightly collection for garden waste is really positive news for our customers and shows that the continued investment in new vehicles and equipment by Garden Waste Collection Basingstoke and BDBC is paying dividends.

The Residents of Basingstoke and Hart, who have signed up to the service, will pay £10. 50 a year via their council tax for garden waste collection. There will be no extra charge for residents who do not take part in the service. The service will also continue to operate from three collection points in Basingstoke one at Burghclere Gate Shopping Centre in Westrop Way; another at Mayflower Park in Mays Road; and finally, Pulvers Way accessed off Gordon Road opposite the Combe Credit Union.

The fortnightly scheme was halted during the Winter of 201314, after stretched resources meant that weekly collections were backlogged and the quality of garden waste collections was adversely affected. A shortterm agreement with another contractor has allowed collections to resume on a fortnightly basis, and BDBC is currently seeking expressions of interest for a twoyear deal to provide the service. Since last year, BDBC and Hart District Council have been undertaking a review of the service, in conjunction with Garden Waste Collection Basingstoke.
