The Household Refuse Collection Gosport Centre (HWRC) was opened in April 1992 by Her Majesty The Queen and is located in Grange Road, Gosport. Following the closure of the former sites at Privett Park, Eastidler Road and Swanwick Marina. It is managed by Hampshire County Council. The HWRC is the main household waste and recycling centre serving approximately 100,000 households (approximately 18,000 residents in 17,000 dwellings) from the Gosport Borough and Fareham Borough. Since 1 April 2010, Gosport Borough Council has been responsible for providing the refuse collection service within the Gosport area.
