Christmas and New Year will see bin collections in Partington go on hold for a week. Salford will suspend refuse collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Manchester, Salford, Rochdale and Oldham are among 31 local authorities across Greater Manchester that are set to refuse collections over Christmas and the New Year.

Partington Council are offering a 'pickup'service over the Christmas and New Year period allowing residents with specific medical conditions to book a visit from refuse collectors. Refuse collectors will be visiting homes in the areas of Partington on the week commencing Monday 19 December 2015, for three weeks covering Christmas and New Year. Partington Council refuse to be caught out over the Christmas and New Year period with a significant winter litter campaign. The council's rubbish collection is due to be changed on 8 December and will see different parts of the Partington area taken by refuse trucks between Monday and Friday for one month.

Partington's refuse collection service will run as normal over the Christmas period from December 23 to January 1 inclusive.
