Soham residents will be able to set their waste out from the earlier time of 7am on their normal collection days. The change, East Cambridgeshire District Council said, means they can celebrate Christmas a little longer but the service will not be available throughout the holiday period and is only offered as a goodwill gesture. Refuse Collection Soham S is reviewing this situation and will revert to its normal seven day service from 15 th January 2017.

The new collection system will be in place from the 1st December and will continue until after the New Year. Collection days will change on a temporary basis for south of Soham during this period.

Street Scene will collect wheeled bins on the alternate weekly collection day for householders in the towns of Soham, Fordham, and Little Thetford. This temporary change is being introduced over Christmas week and New Year when the refuse and recycling plant in Soham is closed for annual maintenance. East Cambridgeshire District Council’s trading company, East Cambs Street Scene (Refuse Collection Soham S), will be changing collection days on a temporary basis this Christmas as refuse lorries will be unable to get down certain streets while the newlook Christmas lights are being put up.
