We are pleased to announce that the collection service has resumed and we are currently in the process of reestablishing all of our twice weekly collections across the District. In order to achieve this, we’re working hard to complete the necessary offloading of garden waste at our sites in Dersingham, Oulton Broad and Ketteringham. Due to the extensive range of materials involved and the time taken to complete this process, there is likely to be a delay in us returning to locations from where collections have been suspended for several weeks.

Prior to October 2013, most householders were entitled to a free annual collection of garden waste. However, East Suffolk council claimed funding pressures meant it could no longer afford this service. Green waste was taken from the area's kerbside collections in autumn 2013 and now householders have to contract private firms for collection. green waste collections were axed by the Conservativerun council, which claimed it had to save millions of pounds after central government cuts.
We are pleased to announce that collection of garden waste will now resume and would like to thank residents for their patience while we worked with our contractors to resolve the issue. We are meeting with Suffolk Coastal District Council next week to discuss issues relating to processing waste once it has been collected, including mixing and contamination of loads by non binlabelled items, and to consider what further actions can be taken. We were forced to suspend collections owing to a number of factors, including adverse weather conditions and damage that had been caused to our fleet and delivery vehicles.
